Deputy Prime Minister Kalfin Participates in Informal EU Employment, Social Affairs, Gender Equality Meeting

Luxembourg/Sofia, July 17 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Labour and Social Policy Minister Ivailo Kalfin participated in an informal EU Council on Employment, Social Affairs and Gender Equality in Luxembourg on July 16-17.

Addressing the meeting, Kalfin hailed the initiative of the Luxembourg EU Presidency
and said that Bulgaria is ready to cooperate with the Maghreb countries to exchange experience and good practices to encourage youth employment.

Of EU's coordination policy in the social sphere, Kalfin said that despite the good results that the open method of coordination is reporting, there is a need to improve results related to EU's common goals by taking into consideration trends and specific features of the markets in the EU member countries.
