Ivan Takov was elected Chair of the Bulgarian Socialist Party's (BSP) Sofia City Council by the delegates of the organization's 14th Conference, BSP-Sofia said in a press release Tuesday.

Takov received 157 votes in a secret ballot. He was competing for the post with Valeri Ivanchev, who got seven votes.

Ivan Takov replaces Kaloyan Pargov.

Takov served as BSP-Sofia's Deputy Chair since 2020 and as municipal councilor for three terms. He has been a BSP member since 2003.
