site.btaPatriarch Neophyte Meets with Montenegrin PM Zdravko Krivokapić

Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte met on Tuesday with Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, who is here on a visit, the Bulgarian Patriarchate said. The meeting, also attended by Gerasimos, Bishop of Melnik and Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, and Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchik, took place at the Sofia Metropolitanate, the Bulgarian Patriarchate reported.

The Montenegrin Prime Minister highlighted the good relationship his country and Bulgaria traditionally have and added that Orthodox Christianity is in the hearts of both peoples.

The war in Ukraine was also a topic of the meeting. The Patriarch was hopeful that peace and unity will be restored, while the Balkan region remains peaceful. His Holiness and Krivokapić united in wishing their countries and the Church a fortunate 2022.
