The Trakiec Equestrian Centre in the village of Zhitnitsa near the southern city of Plovdiv hosts the final competition of FEI's Jumping World Challenge 2022 in July 27 through to 31, the Bulgarian Equestrian Federation said.
The competition is part of FEI's programme for the development of equestrian sport worldwide and is one of the main events on FEI's calendar.
Seventeen riders from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Jordan, Morocco, South Africa, Singapore, Argentina, Uruguay and Tunisia are coming to Bulgaria, which will be represented by two riders - Vanesa Atanasova and Erdohan Sami.
"This is the second time since 2015 that we are hosting such a final, which will be watched around the world, thanks to the FEI TV channel. The honour of hosting Challenge 2022 obliges us to be perfect hosts and we have made excellent arrangements for everything. The competition has no prize fund, but we have prepared special surprises as gifts for all participants and especially for the winners," said the vice-president of the Bulgarian Equestrian Federation, Dr. Krum Rashkov.
The FEI Jumping World Challenge Final is open to 20 riders, which are the two best-placed Category A from the 10 regional zones. The Final is held outdoors, on borrowed horses.
In addition to FEI's TV channel, the event will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Bulgarian Equestrian Federation, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFJzO31QgeDhVKSSsgeEgTQ.
The first competition of the programme will start at 5 pm on Thursday while the big final will begin at 3 pm on Sunday.
Admission to the event is free.
