Vazrazhdane will stage a protest in support of the preservation of the Bulgarian lev and against Bulgaria's euro changeover, the nationalist party said in a press release here on Monday. The demonstration will take place in front of the Parliament building at 12 noon on December 3.

Vazrazhdane said that the adoption of the euro is not in accordance with the current economic situation in Bulgaria, and, hypothetically, the country can adopt the common currency even after 500 years and this will still not violate the Maastricht Treaty, because the treaty does not set a specific date for switching to the euro and each EU member has the right to decide when and how to complete this process.

According to Vazrazhdane, Bulgarian politicians are pressured by the European Central Bank to bring the country into the eurozone.

After holding talks with President Rumen Radev as part of his consultations before he hands the first exploratory mandate for the formation of a government, Vazrazhdane declared that they will establish an initiative committee to hold a national referendum on Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone.
