Bulgarian caretaker Youth and Sports Minister Vessela Lecheva is on a two-day visit to Budapest where she will hold meetings with Hungarian Secretary of State for Sports Adam Schmidt, and Zsolt Gyulay, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, the Bulgarian Sports Ministry said in a press release here on Wednesday.
Lecheva will also hold a series of talks with representatives of Hungary's leading sports federations, as well as with the management teams of the modern sports facilities that have made it possible for Hungary to host major sporting forums in recent years and for its sport policy to be described as a leading one in Europe.
On Wednesday, Lecheva visited the training centre of the Hungarian national football team, where the Bulgarian delegation held talks with Bulgaria's Ambassador to Hungary Hristo Polendakov, Istvan Nagy, Director General at the Sports Diplomacy Department with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, among others.
The Bulgarian delegation also visited Puskas Arena, Hungary's national stadium.
"In Bulgaria, for years there have been discussions for building a new national football stadium. It is good to see how this happens in other countries in Europe, who managed to build modern stadiums of their own," Lecheva said.
The Bulgarian Sports Minister and the President of the Bulgarian Swimming federation, Georgi Avramchev, also took a tour of the Duna Arena aquatics complex, where they conferred with the President of the Hungarian Swimming Federation, Sandor Wladar.
