site.btaParliament Chair Rashidov Received in Personal Audience by His Holiness Pope Francis

National Assembly Chairman Vezhdi Rashidov was received in personal audience by His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican. The meeting was held on the last day of the 56th Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, the parliamentary press office said Wednesday.

The Chairman of the National Assembly wished His Holiness good health and fortitude in his mission to achieve peace in the world, and conveyed to Pope Francis the greetings and respect of the Bulgarian people. 

For his part, Pope Francis blessed Rashidov and all Bulgarians and wished everyone to be united in their work and prayers for peace and prosperity.

Rashidov presented His Holiness with a copy of a vessel from the Valchitran gold treasure.
