site.btaDеputy Parliament Speaker Kirova: Climate Change Is Responsibility of National Parliaments Too

Problems related to climate change are a responsibility not only of governments but of national parliaments too, said National Assembly Deputy Chair Rossitsa Kirova to participants in the 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, quoted on the website of the legislature.

"The climate crisis is a global threat and we are urging all our partners to reinforce their plans for mitigation of the effects of climate change and tae new commitments as soon as possible," said Kirova within the framework of the forum, which is taking pace between March 20 and 24 in Nusa Dua, Indonesia. Kirova said that Bulgaria is honouring its commitments under the Paris Agreement.

She specified that Bulgaria's efforts are focused in three main areas: crating conditions for speeded up development of RES and hydrogen, stepped up activities for improving the energy efficiency of the economy and sustainable mobility.
