The construction of the largest retail park in Western Bulgaria was launched in Pernik, near Sofia, on Thursday. The park will include a Praktiker home and garden hypermarket and another 15 stores of world-renowned brands part of the Videolux Holding company franchise, the company said. Municipality Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov, Videolux Holding Chairman of the Board Todor Belchev and the owner of the chosen construction company Barage Group, Konstantin Chuhlev, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony.  

The future retail park will cover an area of 7.5 ha, with outlets occupying 22,580 sq m, including one of 8,600 sq m for Praktiker alone. 

The investment of over BGN 20 million will ensure more than 300 new jobs. Videolux has also undertaken to rehabilitate a kindergarten in Pernik by the time the retail park is inaugurated in the spring of 2023. 

The facility will include a food store, a pet store, apparel outlets, interior design studios, sport clothes and equipment shops, etc. A parking lot for 550 cars, complete with charging stations for electric vehicles, and a garden with trees and shrubs will be installed.
