site.btaAgriculture Minister Ivanov Prioritizes Support for Farmers, Food Processing Industry

Supporting farmers and companies from the food processing industry are among the priorities of the Agriculture Ministry, Agriculture Minister Ivan Ivanov said during the opening of the Festival of Gornooryahovski flat sausage (sudzhuk) in Gorna Oryahovitsa, the Agriculture Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.

Ivanov said that his Ministry works towards improving support mechanisms, stimulating investment, introducing innovations in the production processes, and encouraging cooperation between producers and processors.

Bulgarian farmers and farmers around the world have faced many challenges regarding workforce, COVID-19 pandemic, war in Ukraine, and increasing production costs due to inflation, he added.

Ivanov believes that all the implemented government measures have begun to yield results and have provided an opportunity not only for developing greater marketing of authentic Bulgarian products but for strengthening the economic sustainability of producers, as well.
