The producer price index on the Bulgarian domestic market in June 2022 increased by 49.3% from this time last year, with the most considerable price increase, of 80.1%, is reported in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas, followed by 34.2% in manufacturing and 14.7% in mining and quarring, the National Statistical Institute reported Friday.

In manufacturing, a more compelling price increase from June 2021 is reported in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 67.6%, in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials by 56.6%, in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 31.1%, and in the manufacture of basic metals by 31.0%. Prices fell in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 0.2%.

The domestic producer price index in June 2022 increased by 2.4% from the previous month. An increase was recorded in manufacturing (by 4.2%), and in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas (by 0.5%). In mining and quarring, prices remained unchanged from the previous month.

The overall producer price index in June 2022 increased by 41.4% compared with the same month in 2021. Price increase is reported in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas (by 83.2%), in manufacturing (by 29.9%), and in mining and quarring (by 18.7%).

In manufacturing, significant increases are seen in the production of chemical products (by 45.4%), in the production of wood and wood products, excluding furniture (by 33.7%), and the production of paper, paperboard and paper and paperboard products (by 32.2%).

The overall producer price index in June 2022 increased by 3.4% from the previous month. An increase was registered in manufacturing (4.4%), in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas (1.4%), and in mining (0.8%). 

The producer price index in the international market in June 2022 increased by 5.1% from the previous month and by 29.6% from this time last year.
