site.btaBulgaria’s June Retail Trade Down 1.4% from May - Eurostat

The volume of retail trade in Bulgaria in June fell by 1.4% on a monthly basis, marking the third consecutive month of decline after May (-0.5%) and April (-1.1%), according to the latest seasonally adjusted data from Eurostat, published on Wednesday.

On an annual basis, Bulgaria’s retail sales index remained almost unchanged in June (+0.1%) and recorded a significant slowdown compared to May (+5%) and April (+5.7%).

June retail sales decreased by 1.3% in the European Union and by 1.2% in the euro area compared to May, when it grew by 0.2% and 0.4% respectively.

Compared to June 2021, the calendar-adjusted retail sales index declined by 2.8% in the EU and by 3.7% in the euro area.
