site.btaDevelopment Bank, Statistical Institute Agree on Joint Research for SME Funding

The Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) and the National Statistical Institute (NSI) signed an agreement on cooperation in conducting research and processing data on funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bulgaria, the BDB reported on Monday.

The NSI will help the bank identify opportunities for funding green transition projects and introducing environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) strategies to enterprises.

The NSI will provide data from its statistical studies included in the National Statistical Programme. It can assist the BDB in carrying out its own analyses.

The joint work of the two institutions will improve the structuring of new guarantee and credit products targeting specific market niches. This will allow the BDB to extend targeted support to companies in need and to mobilize resources in such areas as implementing sustainable business models, boosting SMEs' exports and competitiveness etc.
