Economy and Industry Minister Nikola Stoyanov was an official guest at the head office of German sportswear giant Adidas in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Stoyanov's ministry reported on Tuesday. He talked with the company CEO Kasper Rorsted and presented investment opportunities in Bulgaria.

He spoke about Bulgaria's achievements in the footwear and apparel industries and presented some of the foreign companies operating in the country. According to Stoyanov, Bulgaria has the world's third-largest number of IT specialists per capita and is among Europe's top 10 countries in terms of number of highly educated computer software engineers per capita. In 2021, the country had over 50,000 software engineers and more than 200,000 employees in the ICT sector, he said.

The guest noted that Bulgaria has an interest in attracting investors capable of giving added value to its economy. "Adidas is a brand that speaks for itself," he said. "I am certain that my country can offer many opportunities if you place your trust in us and invest in Bulgaria." Stoyanov highlighted the possibilities presented by Sofia Tech Park, the first technology park in Bulgaria, saying it could house a new Adidas venture.

The sides agreed to continue their talks in Bulgaria. Adidas will send a delegation next month. The company management shared their excellent impressions of Bulgaria as a talent powerhouse in the field of ICT, digitization and innovation.
