"Our goal is the development of Sofia as a green city. The separate collection of waste is extremely important for the environment, it is an example of how we can all achieve great success in the circular economy of our city," said Mayor Fandakova.

The aim of the agreement is the exchange of experience and good practices in solving issues related to separate collection and recycling, applying the principles and objectives of the circular economy in fulfillment of the main objective of the Green Deal – to make Europe climate neutral.

By signing the agreement, the parties undertook to participate in joint public meetings, seminars and conferences in the field of waste management and development of research projects, including those under EU programmes.
