site.btaParliament Ratifies Air Services Agreement between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia

The Bulgarian Parliament Thursday voted 182 in favour to ratify an Air Services Agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia.

The Agreement provides the necessary legal conditions for a long-term mutually beneficial operation of regular international air services in accordance with the contemporary international standards and requirements for technical security, safety and economic effectiveness. The Agreement includes various legal facilitations, which provide air carriers with access to markets, according to the Parliamentary Transport Committee's report.

The Agreement will create conditions for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, boost tourism and provide the citizens of both countries with a comfortable, direct air service, the Transport Committee said. It also expects an increase in the airports' revenues, improved connectivity of Bulgaria with the Middle East, an increase in the number of passengers and goods, and a drop in air fare.
