Rise Up Bulgaria leader Maya Manolova told reporters in Yambol, Southeast Bulgaria, that the first bill to be introduced in parliament by her party would be on the emergency in the energy and water and sewage sectors. According to Manolova, the state should cover the entire increase in households' utility bills for the heating season. "The energy poor are not the 300,000 people that the quadruple coalition deemed in need of assistance. Energy poor is anyone whose energy bill is 10% higher than their income. For example, two poor workers who are paid BGN 1,400, should not have to pay more than BGN 140 to cover their energy bills," Manolova said. She labelled "absurd" BSP's proposal to freeze household bills, because even now those bills are too high.
