А production of Giacomo Puccini's opera Tosca and a concert by the prima donna of Bulgarian pop music, Lili Ivanova, are the first two musical events announced for the new season at the Kaylaka Summer Theatre in Pleven, which starts in June, said the organizers to BTA.

The opera production will be performed on June 16 on the largest open-air Pleven stage, under the conduction of maestro Naiden Todorov with the Pleven Philharmonic, the Gena Dimitrova Choir and world-renowned Bulgarian opera singers Tatiana Ivanova, Georgi Sultanov and Ventseslav Anastasov, the director of the Pleven Music Institute, Lyubomir Dyakovski, told BTA .

Dyakovski highlighted the special role of maestro Todorov, director and chief conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic. Under his leadership, masterpieces such as  Aida, Nabucco, Carmina Burana and others have been presented in Kaylaka, he recalled.

''The Kaylaka Summer Theatre in Pleven is one of the magical places for art in Pleven, which every summer gathers star names from the artistic and musical world and thousands of art lovers,'' commented Dyakovski. He pointed out that opera performances on this "stage under the stars" have been carried out since 1987.
The second musical event at the Kaylaka Summer Theatre to have a set date, June 28, is the concert of Lili Ivanova, part of her 2022 national tour. Tickets are sold through the Eventim network.
