The documentary film Rue Francophonie, made by Bulgarian National Television in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marks the 30th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), the Ministry reported on Thursday.

The film will be screened at Slaveikov Hall of Sofia's French Institute at 6 p.m. on March 26. The screening is part of the culture and education programme for the International Day of the Francophonie (March 20).

The French-language documentary shows how the idea of Bulgaria's accession to OIF was conceived and highlights major events and meetings. It describes the economic and political context of the accession and presents the main figures and agencies of the Francophonie in Bulgaria since 1991.

Before and after the screening, the audience will have a chance to talk with members of the crew, including screenwriters Milena Dimitrova and Teodor Zlatkov, director Damyan Petrov, editors Adriana Dimitrova and Malin Arnautski and cinematographer Alex Samundji.
