The Hungarian performance Mechanics of Distance will be presented at Sofia's Toplocentrala regional centre for contemporary art on April 11 and 12, the organizers from ACT Association for Free Theatre said.
Choreographer Máté Mészáros' provocative piece will offer the audience a new and unexpected view on one of the most topical matters in the last two years: the unobtainable closeness. Mechanics of Distance is performed by three dancers to Áron Porteleki’s live music in a public space, such as art halls, lobbies, gardens, squares, and the performance is adapted to the specific venue. The audience follow the performers in the space at a proximity of their choice.
Mészáros will also have a workshop with Bulgarian dancers, and on April 12 the results will be presented with the audience's participation.
The Hungarian performers are coming to Bulgaria thanks to the Perform Europe platform and a partnership between SIN Arts, ACT Association for Free Theatre, Toplocentrala, and Hungary's Liszt Institute.
