site.btaLabèque Piano Duo to Give Concert in Sofia

French sibling pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque will give a concert at Sofia's Bulgaria Hall on April 7, Sofia Philharmonic said. The concert will bring together on one stage the two newest Steinway grand pianos in Sofia, that of Sofia Philharmonic and of the National Music Academy, both instruments approved personally by the duo.

In Sofia the Labèque sisters will present Concerto for Two Pianos, written for them by acclaimed composer-guitarist and Grammy winner Bryce Dessner (The National).

Many composers have written music for the French piano duo, including Luciano Berio, Michael Nyman, Louis Andriessen, and Philip Glass.

The duo often work with pop stars such as Sting, Madonna, Elton John, and Thom Yorke. Music performed by the Labèque sisters can be heard in many Hollywood films.
