The Hans Christian Andersen Centrе for Research and Information with the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia has been awarded the 2022 prestigious annual award in Denmark named after the great Danish author and traveller, Bulgarian Ambassador in Copenhagen Svetlan Stoev said.
The award was conferred on April 2 in an official ceremony in Andersen's birth city of Odense. The distinction was received by the the Director of the Centre, Nadezhda Mihailova, who also heads the MA programme in Scandinavian Studies in the Sofia University.
The Hans Christian Andersen Research and Information Centre functions as an auxiliary unit to the Scandinavian Studies Division, part of the Department of German and Scandinavian Studies in the Sofia University. The Centre carries out research in the personality and works of the outstanding Danish poet and writer Hans Christian Andersen, and provides information and teaching materials in the area of Danish language, literature and culture, to graduates and students, school teachers, and the general public.
