An exhibition of abstract paintings and graphics will be presented by artist Marta Boyanova from April 12 to May 5 in the gallery-bookstore "Sofia Press", the organizers announced on Wednesday.
"I have long pursued the idea of making an exhibition of abstract works, including paintings and graphics.”
The compositions arise from the free play of colours and shapes, based on open artistic resemblance. If the idea of a composition was sketched in a flash on a piece of paper, then the subsequent realization takes place through a slow and capricious multi-layered accumulation on the canvas. “As an artist, I like to move in the field of the rich impressionist tradition," says Marta Boyanova.
"I have perceived the power and joy of red (or ocher) by the icon. These are my slow paintings as opposed to my outdoor work, which I have the chance and opportunity to present around Easter," she said.
