site.bta Vienna Symphony Orchestra to Perform in Plovdiv in September
The Vienna Symphony Orchestra is visiting Bulgaria for the first time to perform two concerts in the Roman theatre of Philippopolis here on September 9 and 10. The events, a part of the city’s 2022 Cultural Calendar, are organized by Trakia Association and supported by the Plovdiv City Hall and the Austrian Embassy in Sofia.
Michael Gunther, Managing Director of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, said during a news conference here on Tuesday that the orchestra is coming with the virtuoso violinist Mario Hossen. Bulgarian Nayden Todorov will conduct the orchestra.
Maestro Mario Hossen said that he worked together with Maestro Nayden Todorov and Michael Gunther to create a programme featuring musical compositions from various cultures. Austria’s Ambassador in Sofia Andrea Wicke is positive that the upcoming concerts will be unique.
