Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte celebrated the festal divine liturgy for the great feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem, also known as Palm Sunday, at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Patriarchate said.

The Bishop of Melnik Gerasim read the Patriarchal oration for Palm Sunday.

Patriarch Neophyte called on the power of sacrificial love, on agony and betrayal, and finally on death and salvation through love. For it is that love that helps people bear suffering with fortitude, believing in a new life and in light, believing in salvation, the Patriarch said.

His Holiness called upon the assembly to open their minds and hearts wide and prepare to celebrate the glorious Resurrection.

Calling for peace and the grace of God, Patriarch Neophyte gave his blessing to all Bulgarians.
