BTA on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with the European Music Festival. The 22nd edition of the festival, which is organized by Cantus Firmus, will open at Sofia's Bulgaria Concert Hall on Tuesday.
"When we started the event some 22 years ago, Bulgaria was on its way to joining the European Union," said Cantus Firmus Executive Director Vassil Dimitrov. "The festival seeks to enable Bulgarian audiences to experience the best that the European music culture has produced over the centuries. This year's edition will also celebrate Classic FM Radio's 20th anniversary."
Violinist Mila Georgieva and conductor Maxim Eshkenazy will be special guests for Tuesday's opening concert. The two artists have known each other since they were 5 or 6 but only started performing together two years ago, specifically during a past edition of the festival.
The 13 main events on the programme of the 22nd European Music Festival feature guest artists from Poland, Czechia, Serbia, Austria, Portugal, the UK, and the US.
