site.btaPhotography Exhibition Shows Work Process of Bulgarian Artisans

An traveling photo exhibition, which is now on display in the National Ethnographic Museum (NEM), shows the work process of crafts people Bulgaria. Entitled Crafts Do Not Give Up. Hats Off!, the exhibition has been put together by the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia.

The collection includes photos from a national photography competition with the same title, organized by Heritage.BG Centre for Excellence, NEM said. 

The photographs present the work process and the products of master blacksmiths, coppersmiths, potters, jewelers, and many others, preserving and passing on to generations the traditional techniques for making household items for the says of work and leisure of Bulgarians. 

The opening of the exhibition is part of the program of the Second Annual Conference of the Heritage.BG Centre for Excellence, and was scheduled for April 18 because it is the International Day for Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day. The three-day academic forum will take place at Sofia University and will gather experts from various academic fields, engaged with the discovery, preservation, and display of valuables and elements, which are part of Bulgaria's material cultural heritage.
