The Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir will make a short tour of Belgium this weekend. It will be the choir's first tour abroad after the COVID epidemic emergency situation in Bulgaria was declared over on April 1, the organizers told BTA.
Under the baton of Venetsia Karamanova and to the accompaniment of pianist Siana Atanassova, the BNR Children's Choir will stage two concerts: in Ghent (April 30) and Brussels (May 1). Invitations are available, respectively, from the Miracle Voices Bulgarian Cultural Society and the Orpheus Bulgarian-Belgian Society of Culture and Art.
The first venue is St Michael's Church, a 12th century Gothic structure in Ghent. The second concert, mottoed "United by Voice", will be held at the St Julien Church in Brussels, where the Bulgarian choir will be joined by the Children's and Youth Choir of the Royal Theatre of La Monnaie.
The setlist features modern and classic pieces, traditional and religious songs.
This will be the fifth Belgian tour of the BNR Children's Choir. In 2002 and 2021, the European Choirs Federation named it Cultural Ambassador of Europe.
