site.btaConcert by Croatian Papandopulo Quartet Marks 30th Anniversary of Bulgaria-Croatia Diplomatic Relations
The Croatian Embassy in Bulgaria is organizing a concert of the Croatian saxophone Papandopulo Quartet on December 15 to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Croatia and Bulgaria, the Embassy said.
The concert will take place at 6 pm at the National Academy of Music Pancho Vladigerov and admissions are free.
Papandopulo is one of leading quarters of its generation and consists of Nikola Fabijanić, soprano saxophone, Gordan Tudor, alto saxophone, Goran Jurković, tenor saxophone, Tomislav Žužak, baritone saxophone
The quartet has had over 300 concerts in Europe and the US and is a recipient of a number of awards, including first prize and Grand Prix at the 3rd International Berliner Music Competition (2019), and a gold medal from Vienna International Music Competition (2021). In 2022 Papandopulo won the first award and Grand Prix at the 6th Manhattan International Music Competition.
The event is part of the culture programme to mark 30 years of the recognition of the Republic of Croatia and is funded by the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
At the end of October Vice President Iliana Iotova visited Croatia and took part in a ceremony for the presentation of 30 roses by the Bulgarian Embassy to the city of Zagreb to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
