The National Ethnographic Museum has enriched its collection with rare samples of votive figurines and two prosphora seals on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the museum said on its Facebook page. The museum is part of the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IEFSEM – BAS).

The artefacts became part of the collection with funds donated by Prof. Mila Santova. 

A matrix for making votives is a particular rarity among the new acquisitions, making the National Ethnographic Museum the only establishment in Bulgaria that can exhibit such a valuable artefact.
