Caretaker Culture Minister Velislav Minekov met with outgoing Kazakhstan Ambassador to Bulgaria Temirtay Izbastin, the Culture Ministry said on its website Wednesday.

At the end of Ambassador Izbastin’s term, Minekov expressed gratitude for the excellent cooperation in the sphere of culture and assured the diplomat he would always be warmly welcome in the future in Bulgaria in any capacity.

In turn, Ambassador Izbastin said that he had spent some of the best years of his life in Bulgaria. He assured Minekov he would pass on to his successor the necessary information to continue the implementation of the exchange projects between the two countries in the field of cultural and historical heritage and performing arts. In addition to the planned visit to the Kazakh capital Astana, Izbastin proposed a visit to Pavlodar where the largest Bulgarian community in Kazakhstan is located.
