site.btaOver 700 Schools Keep Educational Mediators Until End-June 2023

Educational mediators and social workers in 721 state and municipal schools, appointed under a national programme of the Ministry of Education and Science, will continue their work until June 30, 2023.

The government extended the National Programme "Support for Educational Mediators and Social Workers" for another six months. A total of 946 educational mediators and social workers have been recruited under the programme. The aim is to reduce the risk of students from vulnerable groups leaving the education system prematurely and to form positive attitudes towards education.

Educational mediators assist pedagogical specialists in improving the exchange of information between teachers and parents. They provide the necessary support to parents in their children's self-preparation and exercises, providing them with the necessary information.

The Government also adopted a decree allocating BGN 4,501,365 to pay the salaries of educational mediators and social workers in municipal schools.
