Festive boxes with free books have been placed next to 25 statues in Sofia on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. Each box contains two titles, said Colibri publishing house - one of the organizers of the project entitled Christmas gifts for the statues of Sofia.
One of the books, Koledno Chudo (Christmas Miracle), includes stories by Bulgarian authors, among whom Vladislav Todorov, Ivan Vladimirov - Nav, Zhechka Georgieva, Ivan Dimitrov, Velina Minkova, Vladimir Poleganov, and Kremena Dimitrova. The other book there is part of the Europa series. The boxes also contain Christmas stockings and other surprises. "Actually, [the gifts] are for the people of Sofia, for anyone who finds them," the publishing house said.
Some of the locations with boxes are the statue of Yan Bibiyan and the devil Fyut in the Bukata Garden, the monument to Aleko Konstantinov on Vitosha Blvd., the statue of the Glagolitic script in front of the National Palace of Culture, the monument to Patriarch Euthymius of Tarnovo, the monument to Yordan Radichkov near the Palace of the National Art Gallery.
