site.btaSofia Opera Stages New Year's Gala Concerts 

The Sofia Opera and Ballet is staging its traditional New Year's gala concerts, which will be held over the course of three days on December 29, 30 and 31. 

Italian singer Fiorenza Cedolins will bring laureates from her young singers competition for the concerts, the Sofia Opera and Ballet said. 

Cedolins will sing Aria of Adriana from Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur. Among the guest performers are three laureates from Cedolins' international competition - Yutong Shen from China, Edera Murciano from Italy and David Esteban from Ecuador. 

"We are ready for the competition's fourth edition and hope that exceptional young singers, especially Bulgarians, will sign up, because they have the opportunity to debut at the Sofia Opera and in many other important operas," Cedolins said. 

The programme features A Thousand and One Nights by Fikret Amirov, the Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, among others.
