A reading night will take place at the French Institute in Sofia on Friday, January 20. The organizers said that the event is dedicated to fear in literature. 

The focus will be on fairy tales, fantasy stories, dystopian science fiction, police investigations, essays, short stories and more. The reading night will last five hours. Books about fear will be read aloud throughout the institute building. There will also be games, literary workshops for the little ones, and a gaming area.

Since 2022, the event has been organised by the National Book Centre.

This year, the French Institute initiated for the first time a Reading Night in Sofia.
