Bulgaria Marks 175th Birth Anniversary of Revolutionary Poet Hristo Botev
On January 6, Bulgaria marked the 175th birth anniversary of the revolutionary poet Hristo Botev with military rituals and wreath-laying ceremonies in various settlements.
A postage stamp with a souvenir cachet dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of poet Hristo Botev was launched Thursday. The stamp was cancelled in the National Assembly’s European Corner.
The launch of the postage stamp is part of the series of events with which Bulgarians pay their respect to the revolutionary poet, his work and his immortal feat, said MP Nikola Minchev of Continue the Change. Generations of Bulgarians bow before Botev and associate his name with the longing for freedom, with self-sacrifice, but also with creative genius, poetic mastery and talent, he added.
