site.btaYavora Petrova Exhibits Drawings Inspired by Pablo Neruda Poetry

Artist Yavora Petrova is exhibiting drawings inspired by the works of the one of the most influential and widely read 20th-century poets of the Americas, Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda. Opening on January 10 at the Rakursi Gallery, the exhibition will continue until January 26, the organizers said on Tuesday.

The exhibition is titled “100 Sonnets, 100 Drawings” and Petrova has worked on it for the past two years. Asked how she chose Neruda in particular as an inspiration, she responded with a quote that “love is a clash of lightnings”.

Yavora Petrova was born in Sofia. She graduated in 1983 in Illustration and Book Design from the National Academy of Arts under Prof. Hristo Neykov and Prof. Rumen Skorchev. She has had solo exhibitions in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna, Warsaw, London, and Donauworth (Germany), among others.
