The Ministry of Youth and Sports and UNICEF signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, the Ministry reported here on Thursday.

The signing was attended by caretaker Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Peter Butchkov, UNICEF’s Representative to Bulgaria Christina de Bruin and experts.  

The Memorandum aims to ensure a framework for cooperation in improving the wellbeing of all children and young people and to facilitate the interaction between the sides in view of achieving their shared goals and tasks, and allow them to create more opportunities for children and young people in Bulgaria.

UNICEF is a valuable partner of the Youth and Sports Ministry when it comes to developing and implementing youth policies, Deputy Minister Buthckov said.

Christina de Bruin noted that the Ministry’s and UNICEF’s teams have reached consensus on the Memorandum quickly, which shows there is political will for concrete future steps.
