Sofia Municipality began a campaign for the adoption of rescue animals on Tuesday. More than 100 municipal institutions will be involved in the campaign, said the Sofia Municipal Council press service.
The campaign includes posters with a photo of dogs and cats spread around kindergartens, schools, cultural institutes, regional administrations, theatres, libraries, museums, etc. By scanning the QR code displayed on the posters, one can look at the history of the animals and choose a future pet. The dogs and kittens are under the care of Animal Rescue Sofia, Four Paws and the Ecoravnovesie municipal enterprise.
The campaign for the adoption of animals was organized in accordance with Sofia Municipal Council's action plan for implementing the national programme for controlling the population of stray dogs in Bulgaria, the press centre of the municipality said.
The capital's schools and kindergartens will present video materials about the responsibility of people towards animals and about the care of domestic and stray four-legged friends. The videos were prepared by Four Paws in partnership with the online platform Ucha.se. They are part of a digital series to raise awareness and promote animal welfare among young people.
