site.btaPlovdiv Municipality Discusses With KOTRA Director Investment Opportunities Between Korean, Plovdiv Companies

Deputy Plovdiv Mayor Stefan Stoyanov and Commercial Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria (KOTRA) Director Yousun Hwang discussed at a meeting opportunities for investment development between Korean and Plovdiv companies and strengthening of bilateral relations, the municipality said Thursday. 

Hwang explained that KOTRA supports the implementation of Korean investments in Bulgaria through the organizing of forums and bilateral business meetings. According to her, the organization supports Bulgarian enterprises in their participation in Korean fairs and facilitates the connection between Korean companies and potential Bulgarian partners.

Stoyanov expressed hope that the meeting is an occasion to increase trade between the two countries. He commented that Plovdiv is one of the largest industrial zones in Southeast Europe, where hundreds of Bulgarian and international companies, including Korea's Hanon Systems, manufacture goods in mechanical engineering, robotics, and electronics. 

The year 2022 marks the 60th anniversary of KOTRA, during which a number of meetings were held between local and Korean companies to promote overall economic development.
