site.btaElectricity Price Spikes Nearly 30% on Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange

The price of electricity on the day-ahead segment of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) for Friday is 28.5 per cent higher than the previous day. On the same market segment on Thursday, electricity reached an average price of 428.96 leva/MWh (excluding VAT).

The average price of peak energy (between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.) was 427.46 leva/MWh. Off-peak energy (between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m.; between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m.) had an average price of 430.46 leva/MWh. The lowest price during Thursday’s session, with Friday as a delivery day, was 289.19 leva/MWh, reached in the 10-11 a.m. period; the highest was 682.59 leva/MWh, reached between 6 and 7 p.m. IBEX data showed a total volume of 86,743.70 MWh sold electricity.

The energy exchange closed on Wednesday at an average price of 333.85 leva/MWh.

The IBEX Intraday Market on Thursday registered a total traded volume of 3369.60 MWh by 7.30 p.m. The average price was 295.97 leva/MWh (excluding VAT).
