site.btaSofia – Skopje Flights to Resume on March 26

Regular direct flights from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Skopje (North Macedonia) and from Skopje to Sofia will resume on March 26, the Bulgarian Transport and Communications Ministry said in a press release here on Thursday. There will be two return flights per week (on Saturday and Monday) which will be operated by GullivAir, a Bulgarian airline.

Transport Minister Nikolay Sabev stressed that this is an important step in the process of improving transport connectivity between Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

The Bulgarian Government fulfilled its commitment to realize the project thanks to the good partnership with North Macedonia’s Transport and Communications Minister Blagoj Bochvarski, his Bulgarian counterpart Sabev said.

On February 11, an inaugural flight of renewed direct flights between Sofia and Skopje was made. A joint government delegation from Bulgaria and North Macedonia was on board, including Bulgarian ministers Nikolay Sabev of Transport and Hristo Prodanov of Tourism, and parliamentary Tourism Committee Chair Ilin Dimitrov, and North Macedonia's ministers Blagoj Bocvarski of Transport and Goran Milevski of Local Self-Government, and Razmena Durovic, State Secretary at the Economy Ministry. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev was also on board.
