site.btaSOFIX Index Dives 6.17% on Monday, 12%-Plus since Start of War in Ukraine
SOFIX, the main index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) which consists of the 15 most liquid companies listed on the BSE, slumped by 6.17 per cent on Monday, whereas the broad BGBX40 Index sank by 4.29 per cent to 127.92 points. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, SOFIX has fallen by 12.71 per cent.
Turnover on BSE’s main market amounted to 7,259,973 leva on Monday, but bonds accounted for over 4.6 million leva of the trades.
Transactions exceeding 39.5 million leva were concluded on the Exchange in February, which was a 6.87 per cent increase from January. The turnover for January and February 2022 grew by 16.32 per cent from the comparable period a year ago.
SOFIX went down by 3.77 per cent in February and by 6.36 per cent for January and February combined.
On Monday, First Investment Bank cheapened by 3.83 per cent to 1.63 leva, Doverie United Holding plummeted by 15.01 per cent to 6 leva, Alteron traded at 14.70 leva per share (down 9.82 per cent), and Sopharma lost 4.91 per cent of its value to 4.46 leva. Petrol AD gained 0.82 per cent to 0.24 leva per share.
