site.btaNearly EUR 84 Mln Will Be Invested in Border Regions between Bulgaria and Greece
Nearly 84 million euro will be invested in the border regions between Bulgaria and Greece between 2021 and 2027 under the Interreg Greece- Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, said Deputy Regional Development Minister Delyana Ivanova, the Ministry said, Ivanova and Georgios Zervos, Special Secretary for European Regional Development Fund with the Hellenic Ministry of Development and Investments, co-chaired an online meeting of the Joint Programming Committee, at which the final draft of the programme was presented. It will finance joint projects of national and regional institutions, the local authorities, the civil sector and the business om both sides of the border.
Similar to the previous programming period in Bulgaria the programme will include the regions of Haskovo, Smolyan, Kardzali and Blagoevgrad and in Greece – Evros, Xanthi, Rhodope, Drama, Kavala, Serres and Thessaloniki,
The final draft will be approved by the Joint Programming Committee under a written procedure. Before being submitted to the European Commission for Approval a public consultation on the Strategic Environmental Assessment should be completed successfully.
