site.btaNational Statistical Institute Reports 2.2% Growth in Construction Output in January, Y/Y

Preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) show that in January the construction production index, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, decreased by 0.7 per cent from December 2021. Calendar adjusted data show a 2.2 per cent increase in construction output in January 2022 compared to a year earlier.

In January, the construction production index calculated from seasonally adjusted data was below the level of December 2021. The production index of civil engineering decreased by 0.7 per cent, while that of building construction dropped by 0.8 per cent.

Year on year, the increase in construction production in January, calculated from calendar adjusted data, was driven by 1.3 per cent growth in civil engineering and 2.9 per cent growth in building construction.
