site.btaPresident Radev Meets with UniCredit Group CEO Orcel

President Rumen Radev on Thursday met with UniCredit Group CEO Andrea Orcel, Radev’s press secretariat said. Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev attended the meeting.

President Radev said that a number of European banks show interest in expanding their operations in Bulgaria, which is due to the fast development of the Fintech industry, the IT sector and related investments. Radev underscored that it is vital that Bulgaria keeps its economic competitiveness in a complicated international environment.

For his part, Orcel said that his bank group, which accounts for the largest share of Bulgaria’s banking sector, will continue to support all efforts for sustainable recovery from the crises with which European countries are faced with today.
