The projected natural gas price for May is 157.73 leva/MWh or 80.65 euro/MWh, the state-owned gas company Bulgargaz EAD said in a press release on Friday. That is 38.69 per cent higher than the price for March set by the energy regulator (113.73 leva/MWh).

The price is exclusive of the cost for access and transmission, excise duty and VAT.

The price is based on the estimated values of the cost elements, as of March 11.

In comparison, the March 10 prices for delivery in May on the European gas markets are approximately 120 euro/MWh.

On May 1, Bulgargaz EAD will submit its final gas price proposal to the regulator for approval, taking into consideration the cost elements as of April 30.

On February 8, Bulgargaz EAD said that the projected gas price for April is 113.85 leva/MWh or 58.21 euro/MWh.
