site.btaTransport Minister: Evidence of Fraud Submitted to Interior Ministry

The Transport Ministry has submitted to the Interior Ministry files of evidence of fraud in the funding of transport projects, Transport and Communications Minister Nikolay Sabev told bTV on Sunday. He claimed the files contained compelling evidence of detriment to the State, including EU funds fraud and fake tendering.

Sabev said there was "sufficient evidence," mostly personal evidence, and it is up to the Interior Ministry to determine to what extent the State's interest had been harmed.

He declined to give details, saying only that a Spanish company joined a consortium for the construction of railway infrastructure nine months after declaring bankruptcy.
