“The government shall take all measures to deal with the inflation,” Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said before Wednesday’s meeting of the Council of Ministers. The current high prices of some commodities are due to the high prices of natural gas and the other fuels on the world markets. Therefore, the European countries, Bulgaria included, have mapped out specific measures to deal with the situation. 

“The European Commission has accepted for discussion Bulgaria’s suggestion for joint purchase of natural gas by the 27 member states,” the Prime Minister commented. 

Coordinated reduction of excise duty on fuels is also under discussion, Petkov underscored.
