Head of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) Boyko Takov took part in the general conference of Business at OECD - an international business network with a global membership representing over 7 million companies of all sizes, and the Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers in Hungary, held March 21-23 in Budapest, BSMEPA reported.
This year's conference focused on small businesses and entrepreneurship. Speakers and participants outlined the areas for future development and presented the best OECD practices that would facilitate the development and introduction of policies concerning SMEs.
Among the participants were OECD Deputy Secretary-General Yoshiki Takeuchi, László György, who is the Secretary of State for Economic Strategy and Regulation with the Hungarian Ministry for Innovation and Technology, and Milena Angelova - Chief Secretary of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association, among others.
In his capacity as leader of the National Contact Point for Bulgaria, Takov conferred with the Secretary of the OECD National Contact Point in Hungary, Viktória Fuzesi, who shared her experience at the local level - a process on which Bulgaria is currently working.
"BSMEPA's participation in this event is more than important, because we are currently working on building a national contact point for responsible business behaviour with OECD, and the opportunity to exchange experience and receive guidance regarding this is truly valuable," Takov said.
"All of this is happening in the context of Bulgaria's negotiations to join the Organization and in view of this, our participation here [in the conference] additionally helps build effective communication with a number of global organizations. What's even more is that we managed to see many good practices that we would like to apply in our country," Takov commented.
